The Canine Cutting Club was established in 2018 by female entrepreneur, Bracken Tighe and offers a comprehensive range of grooming services for all dogs, regardless of breed or size. The company launched in Stockton Heath and then opened in Forward Property Group’s premises at 163 Hale Road in Hale last year.

Now, after a successful 12 months, the company is expanding to Forward Property Group’s newly renovated premises on King Street in Knutsford Town Centre and will open their doors early next month (December 2021).

As well as a simple wash, cut and dry, The Canine Cutting Club will offer full maintenance packages that include teeth cleaning, tear stain treatment, eye and ear cleaning and nail clipping alongside pooch pampering experiences such as a blueberry facial or a mud bath.  The salon will also provide an expert handstripping service for wire breed dogs.

The arrival of The Canine Cutting Club will see Knutsford gain its first dog grooming training academy. Bracken, who also has a degree in Bioveterinary Science, will be offering a range of courses suited to owners as well as those hoping to embark on a career as a professional dog groomer.

Whilst already having successful Canine Cutting Club branches in Stockton Heath and Hale, Bracken has always wanted to open a store in Knutsford. She says, “I live near Knutsford and spend a lot of my time here so I knew it was the perfect place to open a dog grooming salon.  It was simply a matter of waiting for the right high street location to become available.

“Forward Property Group, who own the premises on King Street and are also my landlords in Hale, mentioned they were completing a refurb on the old Broadbents store. I remembered just how prominent the location was and that it had excellent parking so I jumped at the opportunity. The store was also large enough to allow me to fulfil my dream of launching the training academy too.  It’s a really exciting time,” she adds.

Forward Property Group, acquired the former Broadbents premises at 63-65 King Street last year and commenced a comprehensive programme of redevelopment and refurbishment. Work involved returning the former clothes boutique to its original footprint of two 600 sqft stores both of which open onto King Street, and the refurbishment of office space at the rear and on the upper floors.

Says Chris Wright, of Forward Property Group, “The Canine Cutting Club is thriving in both Hale and Stockton Heath and is exactly the kind of fun yet useful enterprise that Knutsford residents will welcome and support.

“We’re really proud to have taken on the refurbishment of the old Broadbents store and to be creating modern and energy efficient retail units that will provide a base for exciting and interesting independent businesses like Bracken’s.  We’re proud to be able to say that all the units have now been let and shoppers can expect to see some new businesses arriving as well as others relocating over the next few months.”
