Forward Property Group has purchased 63-65 King Street in Knutsford, the former home of Broadbents clothing boutique.
The Rostherne based business plans to fully renovate and upgrade the building over the next 3 months. The main retail unit will be returned to two single retail units of approximately 600 sq feet each opening on to King Street and a 1,100 sq foot office space to the rear.
The upper floors overlooking King Street, comprise two office units which have already been let. There are two further spaces of approximately 200 sq ft, opposite The Cheese Yard, one of which is let to a seamstress and another which is a new space and which is hoped will attract a new retail business or studio/workshop.
As a local business owned and operated by a team who live in the Knutsford area, the purchase of the 63-65 King Street building is particularly important. Says Chris Wright of Forward Property Group, “Our high streets have really suffered in recent months. Vacant units will not attract shoppers back to the town centre and, equally, older outdated premises will not appeal to modern businesses, who need retail or office accommodation that is energy efficient and has reliable communication systems.
“For both personal and professional reasons we want to see Knutsford thrive, and we’re proud to be investing in its future,” he adds.
